What’s your favorite version of macOS/Mac OS X?

Update: The poll is now closed, and the results weren't even close…

Snow Leopard wins in a landslide.

With the 2020 (Virtual) WWDC about a week away—and with it, more than likely, the reveal of Yet Another New macOS Version, I thought it might be interesting to run a little poll…

What is your personal all-time-favorite version of macOS/Mac OS X? Instead of trying to add a polling plug-in here, I quickly created one using surveyplanet. It's set to full anonymous mode, so no IP info is collected—it's just for fun…

If you need more details as to what came with each release, check out this Wikipedia article.

Personally, I'd have to say it was … nah, I'm not going to reveal my vote just yet! There's a small comment box on the poll, or you can add comments here if you have more thoughts on the question.

    1. Yes, there is lots to be said about Mac OS 9's simplicity, flexibility and speed. I still miss some of its capabilities.

    1. Been using OS X.6.8 since it came out. BUT how to continue? Cannot find a browser that is up-to-date that can handle all the new website developments, features, security, etc... Any good suggestions?

Right now I am forced to move to Mojave at minimum due to new hardware but if there is a way to continue to make older hardware viable, I'm interested (Still have a 27" 2010 iMac 2.93 GHz i7 with 20GB RAM, 120 GB SSD & 5TB internal drive...and of course the max macOS it can handle is 10.13 High Sierra).

  1. For me, its ALWAYS the current release, because if I buy a new mac, it’ll be the one I have to use.

  2. 10.6.8 Snow Leopard
    Before that it was 8.6.
Both were quite stable for a very long time.

  3. Tiger of course, stable af (AF!) and the last truly theme-able version.

Thanks for the poll, miss those on Hints.
